“I THANK GOD!”

Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint. Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. WHY IS THE RESURRECTION SUCH A BIG DEAL?

• It validates who Jesus is.

• It fulfills Old Testament prophecy.

• It fulfills what Jesus told his disciples.

• It makes a way for my resurrection someday.

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN FOR ME TODAY?

1. … I can have in the middle of my .

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. -John 14:27 (NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! -2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. -Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)

Accept: the free gift of salvation from God.

Believe: Jesus is the Son of God – He lived, died, and rose again.

Confess: tell God that you believe in Him; admit your sins and your need for Him; then, tell someone else that you’ve made this decision.
