I can have faith to face the future because…

1. … of what God has done in the .

Sampling of Old Testament verses of God’s Great Deeds:

…Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

…Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, Who alone works wonders.

…For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.

…God has done great things which we cannot comprehend.

…He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

2. … of God’s for us.

For all of God’s promises are “Yes” and “Amen” through Christ Jesus. -2 Corinthians 1:20 (NASB)

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. -2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. -John 16:33 (NLT)

3. … of God’s about the future.

Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold…21 For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones. -Matthew 2:4-12; 21-22 (NLT)

(Jesus) Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man. -Luke 21:36 (NLT)

When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. -Matthew 24:37-39 (NLT)
