SERVING EACH OTHER
BETTER TOGETHER – PART 3

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

When we help other people, we are them.

I serve God by serving .

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. -Ephesians 6:7-8 (NIV)

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. -1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others. -2 Corinthians 9:8 (NCV)

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. -Matthew 20:28 (NLT)

To serve people like Jesus served them…

1. …I need to be .

Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”…When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” -Matthew 20:30-32 (NLT)

I need to be willing to be .

Don’t tell your neighbor to come back tomorrow, if you can help today. -Proverbs 3:28 (CEV)

Barriers to being available:

1.

Care about others’ needs as much as you care about yourselves… -Philippians 2:5 (CEV)

If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. -Ecclesiastics 11:4 (TLB)

(Jesus) No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. -Luke 16:13 (NIV)

Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. -Psalm 100:2 (NASB)

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. -2 Timothy1:9 (NLT)

A barrier to being grateful:

What right do you have to criticize someone else’s servants? Only their Lord can decide if they are doing right, and the Lord will make sure that they do right. -Romans 14:4 (CEV)

(Jesus) I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. -John 17:4 (NLT)

So my dear brothers and sisters, stand strong. Do not let anything move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your work in the Lord is never wasted. -1 Corinthians 15:58 (NCV)
