Words have the power to direct our lives. (MULTILINE)

James 3:2-5 (Phillips Translation)
If a person can control his tongue, he can control every other part of his personality! Men control the movements of a large animal like the horse with a tiny bit placed in its mouth. Ships too, for all their size and the momentum they have with a strong wind behind them, are controlled by a very small rudder according to the course chosen by the helmsman. The human tongue is physically small, but what tremendous effects it can boast of! (MULTILINE)

Words reveal who we are on the inside. (MULTILINE)

Luke 6:45 (GNT)
A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart; a bad person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things. For the most speaks what the heart is full of. (MULTILINE)

(MULTILINE)

All of us make a lot of mistakes. If someone doesn’t make any mistakes when he speaks, he would be perfect. He would be able to control everything he does. Yet, no one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil filled with deadly prison. (MULTILINE)

1. Identify and capture your toxic thoughts. (MULTILINE)

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NIV)
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (MULTILINE)

A stronghold is a prison of deception. (MULTILINE)

Revelation 1:7-8 (NKJV)
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)
Therefore, God has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus ever knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those in earth, and of those under the earth, and they every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (MULTILINE)

Acts 1:9-11 (NKJV)
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven. (MULTILINE)

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uniformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words. (MULTILINE)

1. Jesus Is Coming Back Again (MULTILINE)

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (MULTILINE)

3. Christians Will Be With God Forever (MULTILINE)

1 Corinthians 15:51-53
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. (MULTILINE)

Colossians 2:13-15 (NKJV)
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (MULTILINE)

Colossians 2:13-15 (The Message)
When you were stuck on your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive–right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant cancelled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the cross and marched them naked through the streets. (MULTILINE)

2 Corinthians 5:19 (The Message)

1 Corinthians 1:18 (The Message)
The Message that points to Christ on the cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation, it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out. (MULTILINE)

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (MULTILINE)

I. Sin & Condemnation (MULTILINE)

II. Emotional Suffering (MULTILINE)

You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us–in one stroke he became poor, and we became rich. (MULTILINE)

Philippians 4:19 (The Message)
You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus. (MULTILINE)

III. Self-Righteousness (MULTILINE)

Colossians 2:13-23 (NKJV)
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. So, let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his freshly mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God. Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of this world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations. Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle, which all concern things which perish with the using–according to the commandments and doctrines of men? These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh. (MULTILINE)

Philippians 3:7-11
The very credentials these people are waving around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the trash–along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master, firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant–dog dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be embraced by him. I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ–God’s righteousness. I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it. (MULTILINE)

IV. Resentment & Un-Forgiveness (“Bitterness”) (MULTILINE)

V. The Past & Its Regrets (MULTILINE)

VI. Sickness & Disease (MULTILINE)

Luke 19:28-40 (NKJV)
When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” (MULTILINE)

Job 6:2-3 (The Message)

2 Kings 6:15-17

Judges 16:23-25
Now the rulers of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their God and to celebrate, saying, “Our God has delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hands. When the people saw, they praised their god, saying, “Our god has delivered our enemy into our hands, the one who laid wasted our land and multiplied our slain. While they were in high spirits, they shouted, “Bring out Samson to entertain us.” So, they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them.” (MULTILINE)

There are two responses to failure:
1. The natural response is remorse.

Thus, he killed many more when he died than while he lived, (MULTILINE)

So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.'” So, Samuel went and lay down in his place.
