What Is a Spiritual Conversation?

A spiritual conversation is any conversation with a normal, nonchurched person about spiritual issues.

Three Things We Learn From Jesus

1. Spiritual conversations happen in ordinary places with ordinary people.

2. Spiritual conversations happen when we take the initiative. People will not listen to you if they feel you do not like them.

3. Spiritual conversations happen by listening well.

Psalm 42:1-2
As the deer pants for the streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for the living God

I spread out my hands to you; my soul longs for you like a thirsty land.

John 7:37
If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

How do you spot spiritual thirst?

1. Being attuned to the questions a person asks.

2. Listening to a person’s story.

3. Looking for the current work of God in a person’s life.

4. Listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Tips for More Spiritual Conversations

1. Make it a priority.

2. Pray for the opportunities.

3. Get out into the community.

4. Cultivate Relationships
