BATTLE READY #1

Finally… Ephesians 6:10 ESV

The Book of Ephesians can be understood in three PARTS:

Part #1: SIT — Ephesians 1:3-3:21

Seated us with him in the heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6

Part #2: WALK — Ephesians 4:1-6:9

Walk in a manner worthy of the calling. Ephesians 4:1

Part #3: STAND — Ephesians 6:10-20

Stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 ESV

Finally, be strong in the Lord.  Ephesians 6:10 ESV

And in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10 ESV 

Put on the whole armor of God, That you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 ESV

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 ESV

But against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 ESV

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Ephesians 6:13 ESV

Become battle ready with six PIECES of God’s armor:

(We will look at three this week and three next week.)

Piece #1: BELT OF TRUTH

Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth.  Ephesians 6:14 ESV

Without the belt of truth you are not ready for the battle. With the belt of truth you are BATTLE READY.

Piece #2: BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

And having put on the breastplate of righteousness. Ephesians 6:14 ESV

Without the breastplate of righteousness you are not ready for the battle. With the breastplate of righteousness you are BATTLE READY.

Piece #3: SHOES OF PEACE

And, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:15 ESV

Without the shoes of peace you are not ready for the battle. With the shoes of peace you are BATTLE READY.

It is called the ARMOR OF GOD for a reason, because God is the only one (not you) who makes you BATTLE READY.
