#1 : Every day you wake up, God is there with you!

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?”   1 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT) 

#2: Every day you wake up, there’s evil all around you! 

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground…  Ephesians 6:13 (NIV) 

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.   1 Peter 5:8 (NLT) 

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them (you) a rich and satisfying life.”  John 10:10 (NLT) 

You need to have a healthy respect for your enemy! 
You need to pray! 
You need to be alert! 
You need to be in relationship with other Christians! 
You need to put on God’s armor!  

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place…  Vs. 14

#3: You are “Battle Ready” when you know & understand God’s peace! 

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  Vs. 15

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.  Romans 5:1 (NLT)

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Vs. 16 

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.  Psalms 18:30 (NLT) 

#5: You are “Battle Ready” when you know & understand God’s salvation! 

Take the helmet of salvation  Vs. 17 

3 ASPECTS OF YOUR SALVATION 

Aspect #1: Past – God’s salvation frees you from the penalty of sin!  (We call this justification) 

For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23 (NIV)

Aspect #2: Present – God’s salvation frees you from the power of sin! (We call this sanctification) 

When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”  
“No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!” 
Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.”  
Simon Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!” 
Jesus replied, “A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet, to be entirely clean. And you disciples are clean…”   John 13:6-10 (NLT)

Aspect #3: Future – God’s salvation frees you from the presence of sin! (We call this glorification) 

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.  There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”  John 14:1-3 (NLT) 
 

#6: You are “Battle Ready” when you know & understand God’s Truth! 

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Vs. 17

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.  Psalm 119:105 (NLT)  

#7: You are “Battle Ready” when you know & understand the power of prayer! 

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  Vs. 17 

When a believing person prays, great things happen.  James 5:16 (NCV) 

There’s power in knowing God’s Truth! (the belt of Truth) 

There’s power in knowing that you are right before God! (the breastplate of righteousness) 

There’s power in knowing that there’s peace between you and God! (the shoes of peace) 

There’s power in trusting in God above all else! (the shield of faith) 

There’s power in knowing the depths of your salvation! (the helmet of salvation) 

There’s power in not only knowing God’s Truth, but living it out! (the sword of the spirit) 

There’s power when you pray because you are praying to the One with all the power! (Prayer) 

I’m battle ready when I have the belt of Truth on! 
I’m battle ready when I have the breastplate of righteousness on!
