Isaiah 26:1-6, 12 ESV

PART 1

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: Isaiah 26:1 (ESV)

Israel sings a song of THANKS to God for what He has done:
We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. (v1)

#1: Israel thanks God for providing SALVATION.

Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. Isaiah 26:1-2 (ESV)

#2: Israel thanks God for providing ACCESS.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. (v3)

#3: Israel thanks God for providing PEACE.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (v4)

#4: Israel thanks God for providing ETERNITY.

For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. (v5)

#5: Israel thanks God for providing DISCIPLINE.

The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.” Isaiah 26:3-6 (ESV)

#6: Israel thanks God for providing VICTORY.

Application for us: TRUST GOD as a way of living.

O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. Isaiah 26:12 (ESV)

Opportunity #1: Trust the Lord to help us be an EQUIPPING church.

Opportunity #2: Trust the Lord to help us to live by FAITH.

Opportunity #3: Trust the Lord for ministry that is BUILT TO LAST.

Opportunity #4: Trust the Lord’s Word in a DECAYING CULTURE.

Opportunity #5: Trust the Lord in our BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIP.

Opportunity #6: Trust the Lord and HIS PROVISION.
