GOD’S HEART FOR THE NATIONS
Oct 31/Nov 1
Habakkuk 1:5 (NIV)
“Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”
Genesis 11:5-9 (NIV)
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” 8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.
Genesis 22:17-18 (NIV)
“I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
Revelation 7:9a (NIV)
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
Psalm 22:27b (NIV)
…all the families of the nations will bow down before him [the Lord]…
Psalm 72:17b (NIV)
…all nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.
Psalm 86:9a (NIV)
All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord…
Psalm 117:1 (NIV)
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol Him, all you peoples.
Isaiah 49:6b (NIV)
“…It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”
Isaiah 66:18 (NIV)
“I… am about to come and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory.”
Daniel 7:13-14b (NIV)
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven…14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him.
Malachi 1:11 (NIV)
“’My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
Acts 10:34-35 (NIV)
Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”
Malachi 1:11 (NIV)
“’My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
Ephesians 2:13-16 (NIV)
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
Matthew 28:19a (NIV)
“…go and make disciples of all nation….”
Matthew 24:14 (NIV)
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
2 Peter 3:12b (NIV)
“…look forward to the day of God and speed its coming…”
