GRACE TRANSFORMS — BELIEVE (pt. 2)

NAME: We want to reach this Big Central Valley with the Grace of Jesus Christ in Community with His Church.  

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Church is to bring glory to God.  1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)  

MISSION: Love God, Love People, Make Disciples.  Matthew 22:37-39; 28:18-20 (ESV)  

VISION: Love your [actual] neighbor. This means every member of the Body of Christ, being led by the power of the Holy Spirit of God, evangelizing and discipling our [actual] neighbors, and leading them to do the same.  

Grace Transforms residents of earth into Citizens of Heaven who BELIEVE in Jesus Christ. 

Five TRUTHS that I believe in Jesus Christ:  

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 (ESV)  

Truth #1­—Apart from Jesus, I am DEAD in my sin.  

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.  Ephesians 2:1-3 (ESV)  

Truth #2­—God loves me and made me ALIVE with Jesus.  

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ  Ephesians 2:4-5 (ESV) 

Truth #3—I am saved from my sin by God’s GRACE.  

by grace you have been saved  Ephesians 2:5 (ESV) 

Truth #4—GRACE TRANSFORMS me (a resident of earth) into a Citizen of Heaven.  

and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…  Ephesians 2:6 (ESV) 

Truth #5—God is showing kindness to me for ETERNITY.  

so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 2:7 (ESV) 

So, why do I BELIEVE in Jesus?  

For by grace you have been saved through faith. Ephesians 2:8 (ESV)  

I can do nothing to save myself, but I believe JESUS SAVES.  

And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)  

Are you ready to believe in Jesus? (And become a member of the Body of Christ?)  

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”  Acts 16:31 (ESV) 

Jesus also has a GOOD plan for my life.  

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
