GRACE TRANSFORMS — EQUIP (pt. 2)

Ephesians 4:1-16

NAME: We want to reach this Big Central Valley with the Grace of Jesus Christ in Community with His Church.

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Church is to bring glory to God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

MISSION: Love God, Love People, Make Disciples.  Matthew 22:37-39; 28:18-20 (ESV)

VISION: Love your [actual] neighbor. This means every member of the Body of Christ, being led by the power of the Holy Spirit of God, evangelizing and discipling our [actual] neighbors, and leading them to do the same.

Grace Transforms residents of earth into
Citizens of Heaven who EQUIP in Jesus Christ.  

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. Ephesians 4:1 (ESV)  

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Ephesians 4:7 (ESV)

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV)

Be equipped for the work of the ministry with five CORE VALUES:  

Core Value #1 ­­— WORSHIP
Living in total worship of Jesus Christ. Matthew 22:37-38 

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6 (ESV) 

The fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13 (ESV)

Into him who is the head, into Christ. Ephesians 4:15 (ESV)

Core Value #2 — SERVE  
Living in neighborly service to those around me. Matthew 22:39 

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 (ESV)   

Core Value #3 — REACH 
Living with endless reach as we share the gospel. Matthew 28:19 

Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”   Ephesians 4:8 (ESV) 

Core Value #4 — CONNECT 
Living in connected fellowship with the body of Christ. Matthew 28:19 

Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3 (ESV) 

Core Value #5 — GROW 
Living in continuous growth to become more like Jesus. Matthew 28:20 

For building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way..  16 When each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.  Ephesians 4:12-16 (ESV)
