3 ways to misuse God’s name…
1. You can misuse God’s name to get what you want!
2. You can misuse God’s name to intimidate people!
3. You can misuse God’s name to impress people!
Titus 1:16a (NIV)
“They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him…”
Isaiah 29:13b (NLT)
“These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
3 ways to use God’s name correctly…
1. You honor the name of God when you speak up (take action) when God’s name is being misused!
Acts 4:12 (NLT)
“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
2. You honor the name of God when you live in a way that honors God’s name!
3. You honor the name of God when you put your trust in God’s name!
Psalm 33:21 (NIV)
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
