Catching and Carrying the PEACE of Christmas into the New Year!

Luke 2:28-32 (ESV)

Listen to the words of Simeon who was 113 years old, and 90-year-old prophetess Anna, as they caught and carried Christmas into their lives.

Simeon: “He took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, ‘Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.’”

Anna: “…she began to give thanks to God and to speak of Him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Israel.” Luke 2:38 (ESV)

Let us appreciate three “hints” from Simeon and Anna on how we can “Catch and Carry the Peace of Christmas into the coming New Year.”

To catch and carry Christmas all year: 

And she spoke of Him to all that were waiting for the redemption in Israel.”  Luke 2:38 (ESV)

To catch and carry Christmas all year:  

Simeon and Anna gave! “She did not depart from the temple, worshipping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:37 (ESV)

To catch and carry Christmas all year: 

The words to Mary in Luke 1:35 (ESV) “(and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”  (Following the Lord Jesus may come with a “price tag.”)

A gift for us to receive and take home: 

“But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become CHILDREN OF GOD!”  John 1:12 (ESV)
