The Importance of The Church

Decisions are basically made on four motivations:

1. Circumstances
2. Convenience
3. Critics
4. Convictions

If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.

CONVICTION #1: JESUS LOVES HIS

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV)

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”

1 John 3:16 (NIV)

I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20 (NKJV)

CONVICTION #2:

JESUS WANTS IN HIS CHURCH

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 (NKJV)

Jesus prayed …that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:21 (NKJV)

The world will be when the church is

Watch out for those who would cause

One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth.

CONVICTION #3: THE CHURCH WILL

I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.
