Consecration = To Be For Holy Use.

1 Peter 2: ^7-8 But for those who reject him,…they stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. ⁹But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. ¹⁰‘Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.’

Joshua 3: ¹Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. ² After three days the officers went throughout the camp, ³ giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. ⁴ Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.” ⁵ Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”

Exodus 19:10-11,14-15: ¹⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes ¹¹ and be ready by the third day, because on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. ¹⁴ After Moses had gone down the mountain to the people, he consecrated them, and they washed their clothes. ¹⁵ Then he said to the people, “Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations.”
