Wisdom in the Proverbs

November 2, 2025   /   Bridge Point Mid County

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Prob. 4:23, NIV)

BOUNDARIES THE HEART.

WITHOUT BOUNDARIES:

1 – YOU THE DOOR TO EMOTIONAL CHAOS.

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. (Prov. 25:28)

2 – YOU WASTE ON THE WRONG BATTLES.

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. (Prov. 26:4-5)

3 – YOU TIME AND PRIORITIES.

How long will you lie there you sluggard? Poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. (Proverbs 6:9-11)

Be careful how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity. (Ephesians 5:15-16).

HOW TO ESTABLISH HEALTHY BOUNDARIES:

1 – BEGIN WITH THE HEART – BEFORE YOU SEPARATE.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding… (Prov. 3:5-6)

Search me, O God, and know my heart…see if there is any offensive way in me. (Psalm 139:23-24)

2 – LET , NOT EMOTION, DRAW THE LINE.

For the Lord gives wisdom…he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. (Proverbs 2:6-8, NIV)

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God… (James 1:5)

  • Will this boundary protect life or punish someone?
  • Am I acting from discernment or defensiveness?
  • Does this draw me closer to God’s peace or reflect my desire to control?

3 – BE , CONSISTENT, AND COMMUNICATIVE.

Let your ‘Yes’ be yes and your ‘No,’ no. (Matt. 5:37)
