Three Aspects of a Person Truly Born Again
1. of the Scripture.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) – For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
John 10:27-30 (ESV) – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.
Romans 8:35, 37-39 (ESV) – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger or sword?… No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Titus 3:4-5 (ESV) – But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus + Nothing = Salvation
John 19:30 (ESV) – When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished,” and He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Psalm 119:160 (ESV) – The sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous rules endures forever.
2. The of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13-14 (ESV) – In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.
Romans 8:9 (ESV) – You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact, the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.
Romans 8:16 (ESV) – The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
To be controlled by the Spirit doesn’t mean you need more of God as much as it means God needs more of you.
How do I know if the lives in me?
- He guides you into .
- He convicts you of .
- He convicts you of .
3. The of a Changed Life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Romans 6:1-2 (ESV) – What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
