Prepare – What are you prepared for? Are you ready for God to step in?
The call to repentance was the response to the news that the Messiah was coming.
John preached Jesus, not John. John pointed to Jesus, not to himself.
Consumed – We are to be immersed in Jesus.
The Temptation of Jesus
How do we stand firm against temptation? The Word of God, faith, and encouragement from others.
Is it time for you to prepare your heart (John the Baptist), be completely immersed by Jesus (be baptized, be immersed), serve him in every way (tie his sandals), and resist that which is pulling you away (stand firm in temptation)? Are you comfortable with who Jesus is?
