Grace Giving

The  of my life is to .

Legacy: What  once we’re gone.

Psalm 112:5-6 (NIV) – Good will come to those who are generous and lend
freely… they will be remembered forever.

Proverbs 11:25 (NIV) – A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes
others will be refreshed.

God wants your , not just your .

Philippians 2:12-13 (NLT) – Dear friends, you always followed my
instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more
important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God
with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the
desire and the power to do what pleases him.

2 Corinthians 8:1-12 (NIV) – And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to
know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the
midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme
poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as
they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they
urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the
Lord’s people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves
first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. So, we urged
Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion
this act of grace on your part. But since you excel in everything—in faith,
in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have
kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. I am not
commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing
it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that
you through his poverty might become rich. And here is my judgment about
what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to
give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your
eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it,
according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is
acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not
have.

When I’m , not guilty.

1 Chronicles 29:10-14 (NIV) – David praised the LORD in the presence of
the whole assembly, saying, “Praise be to you, LORD, the God of our father
Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, LORD, is the greatness and
the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything
in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted
as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all
things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to
all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. But
who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as
generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only
what comes from your hand.”

When I the way God does.

Acts 2:42-47 (NIV) – They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching
and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was
filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.
All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold
property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they
continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in
their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God
and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their
number daily those who were being saved. All the believers were one in
heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their
own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles
continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace
was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons
among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold
them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet,
and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

When I fall .

Psalm 116:12 (NIV) – How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me?
