Take This Job and Love It

Luke 21:34 – “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with
carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on
you suddenly like a trap.”

Eccelsiates 2:17 – So I hated life, because the work that is done under the
sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have
peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome
the world.”

Colossians 3:1-2 – Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your
hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Therefore, as God’s
chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Colossians 3:13 – Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of
you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:14 – And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them
all together in perfect unity.

1. My gives me a
my  gives .
• Discover my real and make a
with my life.

Psalm 139:13-14 – For you created my inmost being; you knit me together
in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Ephesians 2:10 – 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to
do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
**All scripture is from the New International Version unless otherwise noted.

2. My is my ministry .
• I’m a in the
.
1 Peter 2:9 – 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him
who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:12 – 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they
accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God
on the day he visits us.

Matthew 5:14-16 – 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a
bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the
house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

• Find a and it, find a
 and it.

3. Work for , not for .

Colossians 3:23-24 – 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you
will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your
might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither
working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

• I will live as if  that will be
.
