The Rebekah Principle
Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud
of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so
easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for
us.
Genesis 24:12-20 – Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham,
make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I
am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are
coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a young woman,
‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink,
and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for
your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my
master.” Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on
her shoulder… The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a
little water from your jar.” “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered
the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. After she had given him a drink,
she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough
to drink.” So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the
well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels.

Three Ways You Can Be Generous

2.
3.
The Rebekah Principle
1. You can’t be generous and at the same time.
2 Corinthians 9:7 – Each man should give what he has decided in his heart
to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.
2 Corinthians 9:8 – And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all
things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good
work.
2. You can’t walk the until you’ve walked
the first.
Luke 16:10 – Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted
with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest
with much.
3. You can’t , but you can send it on ahead.
• Treasure isn’t what you accumulate on earth, but what you .
Matthew 6:19-20 – Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But
store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
4. You can’t wait for the to give. It will follow.
Final Words Of Encouragement
1. “Even the of generosity make a difference.”
Matthew 10:42 – And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of
these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will
certainly not lose his reward.
2. “When you give, the of your generosity often outlives you.”
John 4:38 – I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have
done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
3. “When you give to others, you .”
Matthew 25:40 – I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
