John 3:16 NASB
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
God Loved – For God so loved the world…
- We were created for a with God, Genesis 1:27.
So God created man in His own image.
- God wants every person to experience His , 1 Timothy 2:3-4.
This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
God Gave – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son…
- We have a need only God can fulfill.
- We are from God by sin, Romans 3:23.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

- We to die, Romans 6:23a.
For the wages of sin is death.
- We haven’t done anything to deserve God’s love, Romans 5:8.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We Believe – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in
Him will not perish…
- Jesus died in our place to take God’s , 1 Corinthians 15:3.
For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures…
- Jesus came back to after three days to give us eternal life, 1 Corinthians 15:4.
…and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
- belief in Jesus is not enough, James 2:19.
You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
We Receive – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in
Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
- God offers forgiveness and eternal life to us as a , Romans 6:23.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- To receive eternal life, we have to God’s offer of love through Jesus, Romans 10:9-10.
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
- God will turn anyone away, no matter what he or she has done, Romans 10:13.
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
