Today: Vision Sunday – Vision Impact!

Vision:What is seen

·      Revelation 7:9: John could see Heaven in the future and the result of the mission effort on earth!

2024:A year of mountains and valleys (highs and lows)

The mountain is where vision is realized, but the valley is where you realize who gives the vision!

·      We always want to live on the mountain.

·      But the valley is where you experience God

Every great movement begins with a vision.

·      Whether it’s a vision to transform a community, change a life, or build a church,

A God-given vision has the power to change the world.

Without vision, people lose direction, purpose, and hope. But when God gives a vision, it gives life, inspires action, and leaves an eternal impact.

1. The Source of  a Vision starts with God’s Purpose

Vision is not just about having big dreams or ambitious goals; it’s about aligning our lives with God’s will.

Q) What is a God-Given Vision?

A God-given vision is a clear picture of the future that God reveals to us to fulfill His Kingdom purposes. It’s not about our own desires, but about what God wants to accomplish through us.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

·      Vision: A divine revelation—God revealing His will to His people.

·      Without a vision: People wander aimlessly, lacking purpose and direction.

Example: Nehemiah 1: After Babylonian captivity

·      Brokenness: His people and Jerusalem

Nehemiah 1:4 (NIV)

·      Vision:  Restore and Rebuild.

Impact of Nehemiah’s Vision

Nehemiah 6:15 (LB)

·      IMPACT: Prayer & Fasting: Why we called a 21-day prayer and fast!

2. Vision Inspires Action

Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV)

A God-given vision inspires action and gives us direction.

When God gives a vision, it moves us from passive to purpose. It helps us see what needs to be done and inspires us to take steps of faith to get it done!

3. Expect obstacles & Challenges

Nehemiah 4:1-2 (NLT)

When we pursue God’s vision, the enemy will try to discourage us, but we must remain steadfast and focused.

Paul had a vision to preach the gospel to the Gentiles

Acts 9:15 (NIV)

….the Lord said, “This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.

·      Paul faced persecution, imprisonment, shipwrecks, and beatings,

·      Paul’s vision impacted the entire world.

Impact of Paul’s Vision:

Paul’s vision led to the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire and the foundation of churches that still influence the world today.
