Importance of Father’s

  • 71% of all inmates came from fatherless homes.
  • 81% of all rapists came from fatherless homes.
  • 90% of all homeless and run-away children came from fatherless homes
  • 60% of youth suicides came from fatherless homes.
  • Children with no current father in the home.
    • 500% more likely to live in poverty or commit a crime.
    • 900% more likely to drop out of school.
    • 2000% more likely to end up in prison.

Saying: Be A Man!

  • Before being a father you’ve got to be a man!

Thought: Many believe being a man is an inward possession of qualities with an outward expression of them. In no time in human history has this been more challenged than today!

Research: “Be A Man”

  1. Act like an adult. (Mom: You’re not a kid anymore so act like a man!)
  2. Emotionally mature and financially secure.
  3. Being sexiest conforming to a stereotype of what a man is.
  4. Quote: When someone tells me to “be a man”, I stop paying attention to them.

Online Definition: The phrase “Be A Man” is an idea that typically refers to exhibiting qualities or behaviors that are traditionally associated with masculinity. These qualities can vary depending on culture and may include traits such as strength, courage, assertiveness, independence, and the ability to suppress vulnerability or sensitivity. The concept of what it means to “Be A Man” is highly subjective and can be influenced by individual beliefs, societal norms, and historical context.

Ultimately, the notion of “being a man” is a socially constructed idea that is constantly evolving and now means different things to different people. It’s essential to approach these concepts with an open-minded perspective, considering the diversity and complexity of human experiences and identities.

Be A Man means Act Like Men

  • Gender: Society use to agree on that meant but not anymore.
  • Behavior: Masculinity and Femininity: We don’t agree anymore.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (ESV)

  • Corinth was the capital of the Roman province of Achaia.
  • It’s significant because of its geography, its wealth, and influence.
  • Paul spent 18 months there: second missionary journey 
  • It was a very sinful place especially sexual sin.
  • “act like men” not gender because God already established it.
  • Now it’s maturity—being a grown-up.

Paul already dealt with child/adult behavior

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV)

  • Paul uses the idea of “man” to be fully mature.
  • “act like men,” ‘be courageous,’ – act different from being a boy.
  • Greek word “act like men is andrizomai: Means strong and courageous.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)

  • Be strong and courageous!
  • Be mature in your faith in Christ.

Be strong and courageous and Believe anything is possible!

Thought: Believe you can be a better person; a better man; a better father!

  • Simple Belief: Rely on evidence or past experiences.

Thought: ‘Anything Is Possible’ is a faith that ventures into the realm of the unseen and unknown. It holds onto hope & conviction, even without proof or visible results.

  6. Potential is all you can do that you have not done yet
  7. It’s all you can become but you haven’t become yet.
  8. Potential is who you really are, but no one knows it yet.
  9. Demands that you never settle for what you have already accomplished.
  10. Guys, your potential is trapped inside you waiting for you to unlock it
