Love

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT) 22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.

Two Misconceptions About Love:

1. The world says love is a

Eros – Sexual or sensual love

Storge – Family or natural love

Phile – Friendship or companionship love

Agape – Unconditional love (God’s love)

• Agape love is a DECISION that commits itself to the well being of another, regardless of the REACTION of the one being loved.

• Agape love is not a love that we PRODUCE, but it is the love of God that He produces in us!

1 John 3:10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God’s commands and does not love other Christians does not belong to God.

1 John 3:11 This is the message we have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

1 John 3:14 If we love our Christian brothers and sisters, it proves that we have passed from death to eternal life. But a person who has no love is still dead.

1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions.

1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.

1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.

1 John 4:16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in him. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

1 John 4:19 We love each other as a result of his loving us first.
