Six important features of the Christian’s view of God and Government:
1. God calls us to submit to governmental authorities (v. 1a)
2. Governmental authorities have been placed in our life by God (v. 1b)
3. To resist governmental authority is to resist God and invite condemnation (v. 2)
4. Governmental authorities are divinely tasked with rewarding good behavior and punishing evil behavior (vv. 3-5)
5. Governmental authorities serve as God’s ministers for our good (v.4a, 6)
6. Fear God by paying your taxes and showing governmental authorities respect and honor (v. 7)
