The Apostle Paul is here laying out the proposition that despite widespread Jewish unbelief, God’s Word has not failed. (v. 6)
In this passage, Paul is defending the proposition that God’s Word has not failed. As he does so, we will see three important truths regarding salvation:
- Salvation is never automatically inherited (vv. 6-7)
- Salvation is always the result of divine intervention (vv. 8-10)
- Salvation is always the result of God’s sovereign, free, and gracious choice (vv. 11-13)
