His Peace for Our Problems | Christmas At Crosstown, Part 2

Peace often feels like something just out of our reach.

“Prince of Peace

A teenage mother giving birth in a stable

A paranoid king ordering the death of innocent children

A nation oppressed by Roman rule

True peace cannot come from us; it has to come to us.

Through His atoning sacrifice

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

Our greatest obstacle to peace isn’t what’s happening around us; it’s what’s inside of us.

“Now my debt is paid, it is paid in full,

By the precious blood that my Jesus spilled.”

Ephesians 2:14

For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.

By justifying us through faith

Romans 5:1

“Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” “The peace of God is not the absence of trouble but His presence in the midst of it.”

True peace isn’t something we achieve; it’s something we receive from Jesus.

“When peace like a river attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll;

Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,

It is well, it is well with my soul.”

  1. Trust Jesus with your greatest problem—your sin
  2. Bring your troubles to the Prince of Peace
  3. Share His peace with others
