God has a mission

God sends us out with a mission

God places us on a team to fulfill the mission.

1. God has a mission

John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

1 John 4:14

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

John 5:30

“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

John 16:7

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.“

2. God sends us out with a mission

John 20:21

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

John 17:18

As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

2 Corinthians 5:20

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore youon behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Acts 17:26

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,


The people are the ministers, the pastors are the administers.


What does it look like to display Christ’s love to the community?

Pray

Share your testimony

Open the door

Check the door

Walk through the door

Look for opportunities to care for the poor and serve those in need

Share your life

1 Thessalonians 2:8

“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

3. God places us on a team to fulfill the mission

Jesus sends his disciples out as a team (Luke 10)

Churches are planted by teams of people (see Acts)

Paul had Barnabas, Timothy, and Silas

As churches were planted a team of elders were established

Romans 12:4-6

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them:
