Ephesians, pt 1 – “Counting Every Blessing”

Ephesians 1:1-14
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has  in Christ  in the heavenly places,

We have everything we need, but do we see it…

Instead of looking for the  God has promised,
we spend a lot of time looking for the  He hasn’t.

When you really  the spiritual blessings, you can  the physical blessings.

Philippians 4:11-13
Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in . 12 I know how to be brought , and I know how to . In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing  and ,  and . 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Instead of always d for what He hasn’t given us,
let’s start  for what He already has!

Counting every spiritual blessing…

1. Adoption
4 even as  in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for  as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

1 John 3:1
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called ; and so we are.

2. Redemption
7 In him  through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

“In him we have …”

3. An Inheritance
11 In him we have obtained , having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.

1 Corinthians 2:9
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”

4. The Holy Spirit
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were , 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Romans 8:16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

You are so blessed!
We’ve been adopted—we’re now in .
We’ve been redeemed—we now have .
We’ve been given an inheritance—the .
We’ve been given the promised Holy Spirit

We are so blessed!
