Experience Is Not Enough

EXPERIENCE IS NOT ENOUGH

Hebrews 6:1-9 (NASB)

TASTING GOD

First, we can have been “enlightened.”

Second, we can have “tasted of the heavenly gift.”

Third, we can be “partakers of the Holy Spirit.”

Fourth, we can have “tasted of the good word of God.”

Fifth, we can have “tasted…of the powers of the age to come.”

GOING BEYOND TASTING

First, learn the truth of Christ.

 “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ…” (Hebrews 6:1).

Second, repent of dead works.

  “…not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works…”

Third, trust Christ totally.

  “faith toward God.”

Fourth, “…press on to maturity…”

1. If you have not yet come all the way into faith in Christ, do it now!

2. If you have already trusted Christ, press on to maturity! There are wonderful things in store for you.

3. Watch out for the signs of leaders who are falling away or have already fallen. Pray for them!

4. Help friends and family members who are not yet all the way in.

5. Finally, come alongside believers who are struggling in their walk with the Lord. Offer to meet with them, bring them to church with you, listen to their challenges, and pray for them. In so doing, you will be good sons and daughters of your heavenly Father.
