Faith-FULL, pt 11 – “Jesus is Coming Back”

James 5:1-9
Come now, , weep and howl for the  upon you. 2 Your riches have  and your garments are . 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have . 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you. 7 , therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. , for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.

When will Jesus return?
Will I be ready when He does?

1 Thessalonians 5:1-3
Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come . 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Since we don’t know , we have to stay faithful .

James’ Warning:

“Come now, , weep and howl for the  upon you.” (James 5:1)

“You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have  in a day of slaughter.” (James 5:5)

If you’re living for this life in the last days you’re just fattening yourself for the day of slaughter.

Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve , for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. .

Matthew 6:19-21
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

1 John 2:15-17
or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17  along with its desires, but whoever does .

Don’t attach yourself to this world…
.

James 5:7-9
, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord.
