Every believer must recognize that God carries out His work in the world through local churches, and our understanding of the church must be grounded in His Word.
Acts 2:41-47; Galatians 6:1
Life Application Points:
- The structure for the church is given in God’s Word and modeled in the early church.
- We have a mandate from the Lord to preach the gospel, make disciples, and establish local churches.
- From God’s Word, local church membership is an important and serious matter.
- The local assembly is a body that has one head, and that head is Jesus Christ.
- God’s Word describes the local church as a family.
