Week 04: Dig Deep
(Ephesians 5:15-16) Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity [time], because the days are evil.
(Luke 13:6-9) Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’ 8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone this year also (for one more year), and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
If you want something you’ve never had — do something you’ve never done.
STEP 01: DIG IT
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it …
✓ Now is the time to
(Hosea 10:12 NLT) I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’
✓ Now is the time to
(Matthew 13:20-22) The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

STEP 02: FERTILIZE IT
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it.
(Genesis 50:20) You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done …
(Philippians 3:8 KJV) Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
(Romans 8:28) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
