Week 01: Fresh Perspective

(Proverbs 39:18 KJV)
Where there is no vision, the people perish …

(Proverbs 29:18 NIV)
Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint

“The only thing worse than being blindis having sight but no vision.”
—Helen Keller

Sight is what you see with your eyes open, vision is what you see with your eyes closed.

Vision gives us the ability God gives us to look beyond what is to see a clear picture what could be.

Vision from God will always impact more than  .

(Genesis 17:4-7)
“As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. 5 No longer will you be called Abram[b]; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. 7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

Vision from God will seem or .

(2 Corinthians 5:7)
For we live by faith, not by sight.

(Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Four Keys to Vision

(Habakkuk 2:1-3)
I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. 2 And the Lord answered me:“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it;  it will surely come; it will not delay.

1. Hear from God

(Habakkuk 2:1)
I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower …

  Vision is God-Breathed

2. Write it down.

(Habakkuk 2:2a)
“Write the vision; make it plain …

We will not do what we do not define.

3. Distance distractions.

(Habakkuk 2:2b)
… so he may run who reads it.

Cognitive distractions distract the mind; opportunity distractions distant the mission.

4. Wait for it.

(Habakkuk 2:3)
If it seems slow, wait for it;  it will surely come; it will not delay.

Obsess over the process, not the results.
