Chapter 1—Just When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Worse

✓He us.

(Ruth 1:16–17) But Ruth replied, “…Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.”

(Exodus 20:6) … showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Chapter 2—Girl Meets Boy/Despair Meets Hope

Ruth 2:14 (ESV)
14 And at mealtime Boaz said to her, “Come here and eat some bread and dip your morsel in the wine.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed to her roasted grain. And she ate until she was satisfied, and she had some left over

Chapter 3—He Said Yes!

(Ruth 3:9) …And she answered, “I am Ruth, your servant. Spread your wings over your servant, for you are a redeemer.”

(Ruth 3:13) (And he said), “As the Lord lives, I will redeem you…”

Chapter 4—A Son Is Born

(Ruth 4:17) And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.
