Chapter 1 – Beginning of creation. God our Creator
- Beginning of order, responsibilities, boundaries, purpose, value
Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning, God created
GOD OUR CREATOR – Genesis 1:1-3
- Created all things out of nothing
- Created all things, visible and invisible, by the power of His word
- Upholds, sustains, and maintains the universe
- Completely involved in His creation
- John 1:1-4 – In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God and the Word was God. 2 He existed in the beginning with God. 3 God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. 4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
God Established Order, Purpose, Responsibilities, Boundaries, and value
Gen 1:14-18 – 14 Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. 15 Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. 16 God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, 18 to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness.
- Order – seasons, days, years
- Purpose – two great lights, the sun and the moo, to separate day from night
- Responsibilities – to govern the day and night by separating light from darkness
- Boundaries – Sun’s boundary is day and the moon and stars boundary is night
- Value – “It is good”. Means a condition of wellness and prosperity with a marked absence of evil, harm, or flaw.

Chapter 2: Beginning of Human Beings. God our Father
- Beginning of Family, Relationship, Dominion
Genesis 1:27 – So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them
Responsibilities:
- Rule over – Take dominion, reign, rule, take over, prevail against.
- Subdue – to tread down, to conquer, to subjugate, or to bring under every idea, desire, behavior, and habit that’s not in harmony with God’s word.
- Work– serve, till, cultivate the ground. Increase happens through work.
- Guard, Take care of, to hedge about, guard, protect, watch or attend.

Chapter 3: Beginning of salvation. God our Redeemer
- Sin, Separation, Promise of Redemption
The impact of sin:
- World disorder
- Guilt and shame
- Hiding from God
- Fear
- Blame
- Relationship intimacy with God broken
- No longer two being one nor unity in their relationship with each other
- Purpose to reproduce God’s nature changed to reproducing their nature sin
Promise of Redemption
Genesis 3:15 – And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.
God sets the expectation of a Redeemer who would be a descendent (a “seed“, an offspring) of Eve.
God establishes how will He will redeem His people from their sin through Jesus shedding His blood for our sin.
Jesus Christ crushed Satan’s head—his authority, his dominion and rule over God’s people.
God set Victory of the kingdom of God over the kingdom of darkness in motion from the beginning.
