Week 2: The Grace of Generosity

(2 Corinthians 9:11) You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will produce thanksgiving to God.

(Proverbs 11:25) A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

(Proverbs 11:24 MSG) The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.(MULTILINE)

The opposite of grace is not judgment.  The opposite of grace is self.  When God does it, it is grace.  When I attempt to do it in my strength, it is self.

1. Just as you were saved by and not of , you will develop a truly generous heart and life only by , not of .

(Ephesians 2:8) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.(MULTILINE)

2. That grace is only accessed “ .”

3. Faith requires on your part.

(James 2:26) For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.(MULTILINE)

4. By grace, through faith, begin taking steps toward a generous life today!

(Hebrews 13:16) And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
