Turn it Around
Week 2: For My Favor

(Romans 8:28) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

(Proverbs 8:35) For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.

(Psalm 84:11 ESV)For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.

(Psalm 30:5 ESV) For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

1. Adjust my .

We can experience God’s favor even in
  situations.

The favor of God is evidenced by the of God.

(Genesis 39:2-5) 2 The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph.

(Genesis 39:20-23)But while Joseph was there in the prison, 21 the Lord was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. 22 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. 23 The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.

(Deuteronomy 31:6) … for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

(Ps. 34:3 NKJV) Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.

2. Adjust my .

(Genesis 45:4-7) Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! 5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. 6 For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. 7 But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

God’s timing is not timing

(Isaiah 40:31) But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

3. Adjust my .

(Genesis 50:19-21) But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

(James 4:6) But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

(Habakkuk 2:3 ESV) For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;  it will surely come; it will not delay.
