Day 1 – The Danger of Wearing a Mask

Summary

God desires His people to live with honesty and integrity, not carefully managed appearances. Hypocrisy destroys intimacy with God and damages Christian community.

Background

Ananias and Sapphira were not judged because they failed to give all their money. They were judged because they deliberately lied in order to appear more spiritual than they really were.

Their sin was rooted in hypocrisy—a desire to protect image over truth.

Integrity – Wholeness and honesty before God and others.
Confession – Openly acknowledging sin before God.

Day 2 – Grace Does Not Make Sin Small

Summary

God’s grace is abundant, but grace should never cause us to minimize the seriousness of sin.

Background

The early church experienced extraordinary grace and power, yet this passage reminds us that God still takes sin seriously.

The cross itself proves the weight of sin. Jesus did not die because sin was small.

Repentance – Turning away from sin and toward God.

Day 3 – The Freedom of Honest Community

Summary

God designed the church to be a place of honesty, healing, encouragement, and burden-bearing—not performance.

Background

The early church was marked by deep fellowship and openness. Hypocrisy threatened to poison that kind of community from within.

Christian community becomes powerful when believers stop pretending and start walking honestly together.

Burden-bearing – Carrying one another’s struggles with love.

Day 4 – Reverence for a Holy God

Summary

The fear of God is not unhealthy terror for believers—it is a deep reverence that produces humility, obedience, and wisdom.

Background

After the deaths of Ananias and Sapphira, “great fear” came upon the church. The believers were reminded that God is not casual, indifferent, or powerless.

His holiness demanded reverence.

Key Words

Fear of God – Reverent awe and submission before God’s holiness.
Holiness – God’s complete moral perfection.
Reverence – Humble honor and worship toward God.

1. God is both loving and holy.
2. A healthy fear of God protects believers from spiritual carelessness.

Day 5 – Grace While There Is Time

Summary

God’s grace is available today, but we should never presume upon it. The invitation of the gospel is urgent.

Background

The sermon closed with both warning and invitation. Though sin is serious, God continues to extend mercy through Jesus Christ.

The proper response to conviction is not hiding—it is repentance and faith.

Faith – Trusting fully in Christ for forgiveness and life.
