Day 1 – What You Have to Give

Summary

Spirit-filled believers do not focus on what they lack—they offer the greatest thing they possess: Jesus.

Background

Peter and John encounter a man who had been lame from birth. Though they had no money to offer, they recognized a divine opportunity. Instead of dwelling on what they lacked, they gave what they had—Jesus.

God used ordinary obedience to create extraordinary transformation.

Holy Spirit – God dwelling within and empowering believers.
Dependence – Relying on God’s strength instead of our own.
Divine Appointment – A moment God orchestrates for His purposes.

Day 2 – A Changed Life Speaks Loudly

Summary

Genuine transformation becomes a testimony that points people to Jesus.

Background

The healed man’s transformation created amazement throughout the temple courts. But Peter refused to let the crowd focus on him. Instead, he redirected their attention to Jesus—the true source of healing and life.

Changed lives create opportunities for gospel conversations.

Transformation – Spiritual change produced by God.
Testimony – A witness to what God has done.
Glory – Honor and praise directed to God.

Charles Spurgeon wrote:
“A Christian’s life should make people ask questions only the gospel can answer.”

Day 3 – Boldness Comes from Being with Jesus

Summary

Spiritual boldness is not manufactured through personality or performance—it flows from deep relationship with Jesus.

Background

The religious leaders were astonished by Peter and John’s courage because they were ordinary, untrained men. Yet one thing stood out clearly: they had been with Jesus.

Their boldness was the overflow of intimacy with Christ.

Abide – To remain closely connected to Christ.
Intimacy – Deep relational closeness with God.

Day 4 – When Opposition Comes

Summary

Opposition is not a sign that God has abandoned His people. Often, it is evidence that the gospel is advancing.

Background

Peter and John were arrested, threatened, and commanded to stop speaking about Jesus. Yet the church did not pray for comfort or escape—they prayed for greater boldness.

The early believers understood that obedience mattered more than approval.

Opposition – Resistance against the truth of God.
Perseverance – Remaining faithful through hardship.
Faithfulness – Continued obedience regardless of cost.

Day 5 – Ordinary People, Extraordinary Mission

Summary

God’s mission has always moved forward through ordinary people surrendered to the Holy Spirit.

Background

The early church did not change the world because they were impressive by worldly standards. They were ordinary people empowered by an extraordinary God.

The same Spirit who empowered them now lives in believers today.

Mission – God’s work of making disciples among all peoples.
Empowerment – Strength given by the Holy Spirit.
Witness – Living and speaking in a way that points others to Jesus.

1. God delights in using ordinary people for kingdom purposes.
2. The Holy Spirit empowers believers for mission.

“Moses spent forty years thinking he was somebody, forty years learning he was nobody, and forty years discovering what God can do with a nobody.”
