Promises

Deuteronomy 6-8

When promises are made what is really occurring is one party is another party to them.

Promises are ultimately built on . That is why broken promises are so .

When promises are broken:

  • It erodes .

Which leads to feelings of:

  • Disappointment
  • Skepticism

Which results in:

  • communication
  • Sense of
  • relationships

promises are indeed a hurtful and disappointing reality of our relationships with other people; however, this is true of our relationship with God.

God is to His !

Why can God be ?

  • He is the (6:4-5)
  • He has a hand (6:21)
  • He is all (6:22-23)
  • He is (6:1,2,4,5,13,15,16,17)
  • He is (6:10; 7:9)
  • He is all (6:23)
  • He is (7:9)
  • He His promises (7:9)
  • He is (7:9)

How can we God and His ?

  • His previous works (7:18; 8:2, 18)
  • Him as the Source (8:15-18)
  • Trust His (8:2)
  • Trust He is (8:5)
  • to Him, not elsewhere (8:1-4)
  • and Praise the LORD your God (8:10)
