Prophecy Update

BIBLICAL HISTORY OF IRAN:

·       Originally known as ancient Elam and Babylon. 

·       Nation of Israel was taken captive here.  (Ezekiel and Daniel)

·       Cyrus, King of Persia, defeated King Darius, released Israel, and this area became known as Persia.

·       Destroyed by Alexander the Great in the 4^th Century BC.

·       Persians are mentioned as being at Pentecost and three of the languages mentioned are from Persia.

·       Ancient history from China described Christianity as a “Persian Religion”, because they first heard about it from Persian silk traders.

·       Muslim Arabs conquer in 633 AD and establish Islam in Iran.

·       Islamic Revolution happens in 1979 and adopted zealous Islamic ideology and governance. 

·       1979-1981 Iran takes over 50 Americans hostage at US Embassy in Tehran for over 400 days.

·       1980-1988 US supports Saddam Hussein and Iraq’s war against Iran leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths.

·       1984 US Department of State declares Iran as a state sponsor of terror that is in place until this day.

·       1992-1997 Congress passes laws sanctioning Iran to prevent them from getting chemical and nuclear weapons.

·       2002 George W. Bush identifies Iran as part of the Axis of Evil.

·       2007-2010 US and Israel deploy cyber weapon and successfully sabotage computers associated with their nuclear program.

·       2016-2016 President Obama negotiates nuclear deal with Iran and lifts sanctions. 

·       2017-2018 President Trump leaves nuclear deal with Iran, reimposes sanctions, and identifies them again as part of the Axis of Evil.

·       2022 President Biden and Israel Prime Minister sign the Jerusalem Declaration affirming Iran must never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

·       October 7, 2023, Israel goes to war with Iranian backed Hamas in Gaza following their attack on them.

·       Conflict widens to Iranian backed Houthis in Yemen, and Hezbollah to the north.

·       Isreal detonates explosive devices hidden in thousands of pagers of Hezbollah leaders.

·       Iran launches over 200 missiles at Israel.

·       June 2025 Israel and Iran at war.

·       Last Saturday, US launched Operation Midnight against Iran in what is described as the largest B-2 bomber operational strike in US history in striking three hardened nuclear sites.

·       Monday President Trump announces cease-fire between Israel and Iran.

1.     Has Israel been fighting the Psalm 83 war?

Views on Psalm 83:

1.     Is Psalm 83 merely a lament of Israel’s enemies at the time of its writing?

2.     Was Psalm 83 fulfilled in 2Chronicles 20?

3.     Was Psalm 83 fulfilled in the Israel – Arab wars of 1948?

4.     Is Psalm 83 part of Armageddon or Ezekiel 38 war?

5.     Is Psalm 83 yet to be fulfilled?  (Inner Ring War)

o   Evidence for yes.  Israel is facing attacks from all sides.

o   Evidence for no.  Not all people groups mentioned in Psalm 83 are currently involved.

2.     Are we seeing the fulfillment of Jeremiah 49: 34-39

QUESTION TO ASK:

1.     Does this prophecy restrict the ancient boundaries of Elam, or do they extend to the modern country’s borders?

CONSIDERATIONS:

1.     Stikes by Israel and US are both inside and outside of ancient Elam’s borders.

2.     Verse 37 is being fulfilled as US and Israel are “the sword”.

3.     The destruction of Iran’s missile launching abilities could be a fulfillment of verse 34.

4.     We have not seen the scattering of Elam to all nations.

3.   Are we seeing the foundation of the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39?

·       Ezekiel 38-39 war is an outer circle war involving Russian, Iran, Turkey and Libya.

After a long time you will be summoned. In the last years you will enter a land that has been restored from war and regathered from many peoples to the mountains of Israel, which had long been a ruin. They were brought out from the peoples, and all of them now live securely. You, all of your troops, and many peoples with you will advance, coming like a thunderstorm; you will be like a cloud covering the land. — Ezekiel 38:8-9 (CSB)

EMERALD CITY:

1.     So that we will not be alarmed.

You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these events are the beginning of labor pains. — Matthew 24:6-8 (CSB)

2.     So that we stay on mission.

“Then they will hand you over to be persecuted, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. Then many will fall away, betray one another, and hate one another.  Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.  This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. — Matthew 24:9-14 (CSB)

3.     Pray for Israel.

Pray for the well-being of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure; may there be peace within your walls, security within your fortresses. — Psalm 122:6-7 (CSB)

I don’t want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you will not be conceited: A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, The Deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.  — Romans 11:25-27 (CSB)
