By Faith…
Romans 3:25 “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood to be received by faith.”
Isaiah 53:5 “But he (a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ) was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him and by his wounds we are healed.”
Romans 3:36 “He (God) did it (having Jesus die on the cross) to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”
Romans 4:1-3 “1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? 2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3 What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Romans 4:6-8 “6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”
Hebrews 11
Verse 3: By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain.
Verse 7: By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, built an ark to save his family.
Verse 22: By faith Joseph, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt
Verse 23: By faith Moses, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God.
Verse 31: By faith Rahab, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
Verse 32: I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms.
Ephesians 2:8-9: “8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Galatians 2:16: “know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.”
Romans 4:20-24 “20 He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.”
