GOD’S GIFT’S pt. 3

1 Corinthians 12:8-10

1 Corinthians 12

INTRODUCTION:

Romans 12:7 (NIV) We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

Romans 12:6 (NIV) We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.

1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV) Do not neglect your gift…

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (NIV) Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Here’s some questions to ask:

*Where within our fellowship can I use my gifts?

*When should I begin using my gifts?

*How can I use my gifts?

*Who should I visit with about using my gifts?

(1) Discover Your Gifts.

*identify

*Investigate

*Involve

*Inquire

(2) Develop Your Gifts.

*discovering

(3) Dedicate Your Gifts.

(4) Deploy Your Gifts.

1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV) Do not neglect your gift

Numbers 19:18-19 (NIV) 18 Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to take some hyssop, dip it in the water and sprinkle the tent and all the furnishings and the people who were there. He must also sprinkle anyone who has touched a human bone or a grave or anyone who has been killed or anyone who has died a natural death. 19 The man who is clean is to sprinkle those who are unclean on the third and seventh days, and on the seventh day he is to purify them. Those who are being cleansed must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and that evening they will be clean.
