And He Will Be Called | Emmanuel: God With Us Week 3| Pastor Andrew Cromwell

 

Matthew 1:22-23 NIV: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

 

Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

 

Jesus is Our Wonderful Counselor

3. The Wonderful Counselor now is !

John 14:16 NIV: Jesus says, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.”

John 16:13 NIV: But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

 

Jesus is Our Mighty God

Jesus is Our Everlasting Father

Jesus is Our Prince of Peace

Peace – “Shalom”

John 14:27 NIV: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Ephesians 2:14-15 NIV: For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace.

Luke 2:14 NIV: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.
