Matthew 22:37-40: …You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
BIG TRUTH: The key to our time shortage is keeping FIRST THINGS FIRST.
Matthew 22:37-40: And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God (when convenient) with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
TIME MYTHS:
1. Someday things will settle down (we just need to get to ______ then we will have time for that)
2. More will be enough (with one more purchase or ________ then we will be content)
BIG QUESTION: AM I LIVING AT A PACE THAT ALLOWS ME TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR?
FIRST THINGS FIRST:
1. PRACTICE DECLUTTERING
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
NEXT STEP: Think about what you can cut out of your schedule?
2. REPRIORITIZE TIME
Ephesians 5:15-17: Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil…
NEXT STEP: Give two hours this week to connecting with a neighbor
James 1:22: But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Romans 10:14-21: But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
NEXT STEPS:
- What can you cut out of your time?
- Give two hours this week to connecting with a neighbor
