How to Respond to a Word from the Lord
1. Deal with the excuse.
Principle of : The Lord is speaking!

1 Thessalonians 5:21 NIV: Test everything. Hold on to what is good.
Romans 12:2 NIV: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
3. Deal with the excuse.
Principle of : I have a part to play!
2 Timothy 2:13 NLT: If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 15 NIV: If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.
However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you…
