Memory Verses:
7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Act 1:7-8 NKJV
This morning as we discuss our finances over faith or faith over finances this is our second sermon on this topic and will be our last. I want to help and teach what God’s Word teaches us, not our preferences, or not what someone else told us what was Biblical. The goal this morning, as last week, is to reinforce Biblical stewardship that many practice each day and week. But as I mentioned last week some have never been taught, they do not know how to budget, they have a desire to be generous and live generously, but they are in debt, made poor financial decisions and investments.
More Than Enough
At Kingsview, we are committed to connecting people to Jesus Christ by providing various resources and opportunities for spiritual growth and transformation. Our Kingsview Community Groups, Coffee and Conversation, Discipleship Groups, Right Now Media, and areas to serve God’s people are just some of the valuable resources we offer to our church family. Today, I’m excited to introduce another meaningful resource.
If you’re seeking guidance in financial stewardship, we have a team of individuals who have graciously offered to use their expertise to meet with you, your spouse, or your children. This new initiative is something I felt we needed to offer, and I’m grateful to those who are willing to provide support in this area. My role will simply be to connect you—I’ll provide the contact details, and you can arrange the meeting directly.
If this resource can help just one family or marriage avoid conflict over finances, we’ll give praise to God for that victory!
This morning I would like to look at one of my favorite passages of Scripture that have taught me about generosity. As well as I have also used it to help shape my concept of finances and faith as a pastor, a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. This section of Scripture is well known and they have taught me through the years the value of staying faithful to the guiding principles when it comes to my finances and faith.
As I stated last week, I am thankful to be in a church where generosity is a natural thing- that is not to say that there are no seasons where we all struggle with being generous, and there are seasons where it seems as if we cannot get ahead. But in my own life, I have seen God show up over and over again when I trust Him, when I stay faithful with the little I have, as He provides for my every need. This morning I have a few big ideas and overarching thoughts regarding our our finances and our faith.
When we are focused on our faith instead of finances we realize Jesus is in the conversation with us. Because of this generosity changes the way we live. Our faith should overflow to be generous, not greedy, even if we feel it is a little and not a lot. Jesus will provide for our needs before we ever ask, or are aware of the need- and it will be overflowing if we stop to see the blessing.

Finances can be a barrier to spiritual growth. Many avoid discussing stewardship, leading to stress and a lack of generosity.
Give your finances to the Lord. Trust Him to provide in areas you’ve guarded from Him.
Be honest about where you need financial wisdom and relief.
Stay the course with any commitments God has placed on your heart. Small acts of faith will lead to significant Kingdom impact.
