“Joy In Prayer”

(Acts 16:18-19) She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to face the authorities. 

(Acts 16:22-23) The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.

(Acts 16:25) About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

(Acts 16:26) Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.

(Psalm 46:1) God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of trouble 

(Psalm 34:4) I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

(Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

3. Joy knowing that he

(Matthew 8:2-3) A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,”he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

(Matthew 8:7) Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”

(Philippians 19-21) 19 Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
